Derating: Always consult the derating curve in the datasheet. Output power capacity decreases at higher ambient temperatures (usually above 50°C) and lower input voltages (below 100-120VAC). Ensure adequate capacity for your operating conditions.
Altitude Operation: If installing above 2000 meters (6500ft), apply the specified derating factor (5°C per 1000m) to ensure safe operation.
Cooling: Maintain adequate clearance around the power supply for proper free air convection. Do not block the ventilation holes on the mesh case.
Grounding: Ensure the FG (Frame Ground / Earth) terminal is correctly and securely connected to the system ground for safety and optimal EMC performance.
Wiring: Use appropriate gauge wire for input (AC/L, AC/N) and output (DC OUTPUT +V, DC OUTPUT -V) connections based on the current rating. Ensure correct polarity for the DC output.
Final Equipment EMC: The LRS-50 is an EMC-compliant component. However, the final equipment it is installed into must undergo its own EMC testing to confirm overall compliance. Refer to Mean Well's "EMI testing of component power supplies" guide if needed.
