• This is a Module Only: You MUST purchase a compatible Trinity Yoke and a Trinity Cover Plate to create a complete wall outlet.
• Telephone vs. Data (RJ11 vs. RJ45): This is a common point of confusion. This RJ11 telephone module is physically narrower than an RJ45 data module. An RJ45 Ethernet plug will not fit into this socket. For computer networking, you must use the Trinity Data Module (TSMDAT).
• Wiring: Standard telephone wiring (e.g., CAT3 or a single pair from a CAT5/6 cable) is terminated onto the back of the module. Ensure the correct pairs are used for a functioning line.
• ADSL Internet: If you are using this socket for an ADSL internet connection, you will still need to use a separate ADSL filter/splitter to separate the phone signal from the internet signal.
• VoIP Systems: This module is for traditional analog phone lines. Most modern office Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems plug into an RJ45 data socket, not this RJ11 telephone socket.
